You may wonder if Windshield Cash Backs are legal in the State of Arizona?

When you google search for “windshield replacement” you will see a plethora of companies attempting to lure you to click on their ad with cash back offers. You start to wonder, is this true? Is this legal? Is this ethical? How does it work?

But the million dollar question is, how can windshield companies afford to pay windshield replacement cash back? And who is paying for this cash back at the end?

As to the legality in Arizona of this cash back trend, yes, it is legal. However, if you are reading this blog and you are located in a different state, you need to know that windshield cash back laws are on a state by state basis.

You don’t want be entangled with the law over this. I encourage you to check the law in your own state.

We are certain that one day lawmakers in our state, Arizona, will rethink their current legislation  and change their position on this morbid trend.

Windshield companies will extend this cash back incentive only if you have full insurance coverage. Cash paying customers will not get a penny back. Why?  ask yourself.

Well, Insurance companies have set rates for windshield cost and installation cost of course depending on the year and model for the vehicle. Windshield companies will bill the insurance for the full amount allowed while they purchase the glass from discounted wholesalers for much less than what the insurance companies pay them.

Same thing with labor, while an average windshield replacement might take 45 minutes, the insurance companies allow for 3 labor hours.

So, who do you think is the victim here? Of course it is you, the consumer. Insurance companies at the end of the day get paid from you and they have this overcharge built into their premiums.

Is this trend ethical? It depends on who you ask. I for one don’t want to see my premiums go up knowing that the only beneficiary of this trend is the windshield company.

Imagine how much these companies overcharge the insurance companies in order to offer you $500 back on top the cost of the glass and labor hours involved! Do you want to be lured by companies that inflict financial harm on you and me?
