There are 4 ADAS System Categories:
Adaptive Systems: Systems that will change and adapt to the surroundings of the vehicle.
Automated Systems: Systems that will override manual operation and provide corrections that a driver cannot safely provide.
Monitoring Systems: Sensors and cameras that constantly monitor the surroundings of the vehicle to evaluate if a correction is needed.
Warning Systems: Alert drivers to potential safety issues of the driver’s making or from those vehicles that are around.
Auto Windshield ADAS Calibration Services
ADAS components are typically mounted to the inside of the windshield (some mount to the interior roof of the vehicle and others vary in location) and operate by seeing through the windshield at obstacles or lane dotted lines in front of the vehicle while in motion.
Does Your Windshield Require Calibration?
Replacing the windshield on vehicles equipped with any ADAS system will compromise accuracy and safety unless it is calibrated. If the cameras/radars/lidars on the vehicle are off by even a few millimeters, ADAS warnings signals may not be accurate. This would compromise the driver’s and public safety unless it is properly calibrated.
When do you need Windshield Calibration:
When any one of the following events occurs:
➣ Windshield replacement

Types of Windshields ADAS Calibration:
Depending on the make and model of your car, there are two types of calibrations:
➣ Static Calibration: Requires a target image that is mounted onto a piece of equipment in front of the vehicle during the recalibration. This type of recalibration typically takes 1 to 2 hours.
➣ Dynamic Calibration: Requires driving the vehicle at a set speed to recalibrate the camera system. This type of recalibration typically takes 1 to 2 hours.
How Much Does Windshield Calibration Cost:
- Cost of calibrating windshield could range between $150 and $900 depending on the features of your windshield. Dealerships usually charge much higher rates. Most insurance providers cover the cost of windshield recalibration with glass coverage insurance policy.
